Surprises in Store at the Annual Spring Flower Workshop

by Kath Collier

There's a trophy out there with your name on it. "Oh No" you might say, thining that trophies are reserved only for those folks with thousands of plants and years of experience. But you have a secret weapon at your disposal - the element of surprise! What will you say is the secret of your sucess? The Annual Spring Workshop!

Fellow trophy winners Chad Harris and Kath Collier are on board to not only show you how to select and groom the best, but also how to get your creative juices going in the design division. This fun, hands-on workshop begins at 10:00 a.m. with Chad sharing his winning flower selection and grooming tips. From there, participants take a break and enjoy chatting and eating their lunch (brought from home) before exploring how to make award winning flower arrangements with Kath Collier. But wait! There's more. This year we will have door prizes.

So, if you haven't signed up yet, contact Tracy Plotner. Bring a container, clippers, anything else you want for the design, and your lunch. We provide the flowers! A great strategy would be to practice making a design that you plan to enter in the show, get tips from the group on how to make it better, and take home the design trophy at the May and June shows.

Note: The time of the workshop is 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Directions to Mt. Pleasant Iris Farm.
