2009 Show Schedule
Show Rules
Any iris grower is eligible to exhibit. You need not be a member.
Entries will be received at the show from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the show day.
Judging at 10:00 a.m.
Section certificates will be awarded to the winner of the most blue ribbons in each section, providing the section qualifies.

A. Tall Bearded Named Iris (TB)
B. Border Bearded Named Iris (BB)
C. Miniature Tall Bearded Named Iris (MTB)
D. Intermediate Bearded Named Iris (IB)
E. Standard Dwarf Bearded Named Iris (SDB)
F. Miniature Dwarf Bearded Named Iris (MDB)
G. Airl, Arilbred, Arilmed Named Iris (Aril) (AB) (AM)
H. Siberian Named Iris (Sib)
I. Spuria Named Iris (Spu)
J. Japanese Named Iris (JA)
K. Dutch/English (Bulbous Types)
L. Louisiana Named Iris (LA)
M. Pacific Coast Named Hybrids (PCN)

Division II - Seedlings
Must be named or numbered and placed under applicable sections A through O, As in Division I.
Division III - Youth (under 19 years of age)
Place under applicable section A through, as in Division I. Youth participants may enter Division I or Division III, but not both.
Divison IV - Artistic
2010 Theme - Iris Goes to the Movies
1. Out of Africa: Line mass design. Dominant line direction can be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal using fresh plant material. Flower may be browns, oranges, or golds. Accessories may be used.
2. Twins: Use two units of common characteristics (color, texture and form). Color of iris is designer's choice.
3. Secret Garden: Use decorative wood and show flower (Bluebeard's Ghost for early show and Gypsy Lord for mid-season show).
4. Beauty and the Beast: Designer's choice using iris greenery. Accesories may be added.
5. Jewel of the Nile: Water reflection. Accessories may be added.
Special rules for the Artistic Division:
- Advanced reservations are appreciated. Contact Tracy Plotner at least one week before the show stating your entries.
- Youth may enter any of the above but must state their age on each entry.
- Iris must dominate over other flowers used in design.
- A small card naming the iris variety used in design is encouraged.
- Entries must be the work of the exhibitor, but not necessarily grown by the exhibitor.
- Backgrounds, accessories and special lighting are permitted.
- Except for #6, artifical plant material, living members of the animal kingdom, landscapes and scenes are not permitted.
- If club flower Ruby Eruption (April), Splashacata (May) and Ruffled Canary (June) are not available, a similar iris may be substituted, knowing that a design using the club flower will recieve more recognition.
- Designers must provide their own containers. Valuable treasures should not be used. Iris may be provided.
- Exhibitor(s) may enter only one entry per class.
