2011 Show Schedule
Click here to download the 2011 Show Schedule! Show Rules Any iris grower is eligible to exhibit. You need not be a member. Entries will be received at the show from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the show day. Judging at 10:00 a.m. Section certificates will be awarded to the winner of the most blue ribbons in each section, providing the section qualifies. Division I A. Tall Bearded Named Iris (TB) B. Border Bearded Named Iris (BB) C. Miniature Tall Bearded Named Iris (MTB) D. Intermediate Bearded Named Iris (IB) E. Standard Dwarf Bearded Named Iris (SDB) F. Miniature Dwarf Bearded Named Iris (MDB) G. Airl, Arilbred, Arilmed Named Iris (Aril) (AB) (AM) H. Siberian Named Iris (Sib) I. Spuria Named Iris (Spu) J. Japanese Named Iris (JA) K. Dutch/English (Bulbous Types) L. Louisiana Named Iris (LA) M. Pacific Coast Named Hybrids (PCN) N. Species (SPEC) O. Species-cross (SPEC-X) P. Historic (introduced prior to 1978) Q. English Boxes Division II - Seedlings Division III - Youth (under 19 years of age) Divison IV - Artistic 2011 Theme - Iris in the Land of Oz 1. YELLOW BRICK ROAD: Yellow or brown plicata using rock or brick. 2. THE LION: Use red-toned or gold/orange iris. 3. SCARECROW: Woodsy arrangement using foliage and iris leaves. 4. DOROTHY: Feature the club flower (Sedona in the early show and Florentine Silk in the mid show.) 5. TIN MAN: Use tin within the design or as a container. 6. THE WICKED WITCH: Dark iris and container. Show motion. Design emphasis is on all fresh materials. Some materials may be available so get there early for the best selection. Frames and backdrops can be used with any design. Reserve your space in advance please! Above all, have fun and let your imagination run wild. Advanced reservations are appreciated. Iris must dominate over other flowers used in design. A small card naming the iris variety used in design is encouraged. Entries must be the work of the exhibitor, but not necessarily grown by the exhibitor. Backgrounds, accessories and special lighting are permitted. Except for #6, artifical plant material, living members of the animal kingdom, landscapes and scenes are not permitted. If club flower Sedona (April) and Florentine Silk (May) are not available, a similar iris may be substituted, knowing that a design using the club flower will recieve more recognition. Designers must provide their own containers. Valuable treasures should not be used. Iris may be provided. Exhibitor(s) may enter only one entry per class. |
