About Us

GPIS is a non-profit devoted to the study, propagation, and culture of the genus iris. Our primary goal is to stimulate and foster interest in horticultural pursuits relating to iris. To accomplish this, we are devoted to the education of the public through exhibitions, public display gardens, and meetings open to the public.

Join the Greater Portland Iris Society

If you like to grow iris, want to learn more about them and meet other iris enthusiastis, we invite you to join us.

Membership priviledges include: the right to use the GPIS library, eligibility for door prizes at meetings (including a $50 iris!), access to special auctions and sales, and admittance to seminars and workshops.

Dues are $10.00 per year per household/address for those who main club is GPIS. For those residing in Region 13, but whose region dues are paid by another club, dues are $7.00. Outside Region 13, dues are $12.50 per year per household.
